Lassen Chalet, A-frame building, Buick Riviera, Sierra-Nevada Mountains, automobile, California, November 1968, 1960s
- For a while the Lassen Chalet seen here, was along the park road several miles within the south park boundary of Lassen Peak National Park. This A-frame building was built in 1966. There was a time that ski equipment for the ski areas within the Lassen Peak National Park could be obtained in the Lassen Chalet. The ski facilities, which were located in the Sulphur Works area not far from the chalet, included 2 ski lifts. These lifts were removed from the park in the mid-1980s. This building was demolished to make way for a park visitor center in the southern area of the park.
