Citroen 2CV, city street, car, mini, automobile, vehicle, minicar, microcar, La Mole France
- In 1948 the French launched their answer to the Volkswagen beetle with the Citroen 2CV. This unique looking car incorporated a tiny 2-cylinder engine in a VW Beetle-like design. Though it was inexpensive it had all-independent suspensions. The front and rear suspension were interconnected by horizontal coil springs so that when the front wheels meet a bump the rear wheels also rise.
From 1948 to 1990, nearly 4 million of the 2CV were built. In the 42 years of production it was second to the Volkswagen Beetle for the highest number of automobiles ever produced. 1948-1990 Total Production: 3,870,000 Front-engined, Fwd, 4M Engine: Flat-2, 2v/cyl, ohv Capacity: 375, 425, 435, 602 cc Power: 9, 12, 18, 29 hp Torque: 29 lbft for 602 cc Weight: 550 kg for 602 cc Top speed: 68 mph for 602 cc 0-60 mph: 31.7 sec for 602 cc

This charade is one of the many atrocities that is presently destroying our human habitable environment. Though the Earth really does not care, WE as the dominant living species should! To drive is to massively pollute! To massivally pollute/abuse has now brought us into the sixth great extinction of world history. ... --- ...
