Arch of Titus
- This monument is made of Pentelic marble and has a single arched opening. It is situated on the Via Sacra just to the south-east of the Forum. The emperor Domitian constructed this arch shortly after the death of his older brother Titus (born AD 41, emperor 79-81).
This architecture has been the basis for many of the triumphal arches built since the 16th century.
