Chepstow Castle, (Welsh: Cas-gwent), Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, Castell Cas-Gwent
- This historic castle is of Norman origin and sits well above the banks of the river Wye in southeast Wales. Construction commenced in the year 1067 and continued till around 1300 and was composed mostly of limestone and sandstone. Chepstow Castle became the key launching point for expeditions into Wales, expeditions that eventually subdued the rebellious population.
