Three Crosses Solidarity Monument, Gdansk
This monument pays homage to the 42 dock workers that were killed by the USSR army as authorized by the communist government. There were more than 1000 workers injured also. This 1970 uprising accelerated the Solidarity movement that eventually brought down the occupation by USSR and the communist regime ruling Poland at the time. It is situated near the entrance to the dockyards.
