Code Number:

Title:
N5056, Lockheed Learstar
This is the N5056 Lockheed Learstar that was once owned by Dr. Steve Schulke, Dentist of Orlando Florida.
Al Barrs designed the interior, built the camper modules and installed them and also designed and built a portable generator to charge the aircraft batteries and to operate the camping equipment onboard. Long range fuel tanks were added in the forward fuselage to make the nonstop trip from California to Hawaii.
Following Dr. Schulke's death N5056 finally ended up in a Bolivian bone yard and used for parts. The aircraft was used and confiscated by ATF twice following Dr. Schulke's death, for smuggling drugs into the U.S.A. under its new owners.
