New Orleans-Louisiana, No. 952, F-Line, Muni, San Francisco, California
- This classic streetcar was built in 1923 for New Orleans Public Service company. In 1998 it was leased to San Francisco Muni by New Orleans Regional Transit Authority. In 2005 it was bought by Muni from the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris California.
When Tennessee Williams wrote "A Streetcar Named Desire" it gave fame to this line in New Orleans. This particular streetcar was part of a total order of 73 units. It operated on the variety of lines in the city including the famed ?Desire? line in New Orleans French Quarter. This particular spur has been out of service since 1948. Originals and replicas of this model are still running in New Orleans one remaining line and also as seen here in San Francisco.
