Rhesus Macaque, (Macaca mulatta), Monkey Forest, Bali, Indonesia
- In Padangtegal, Ubud Bali there is a monkey forest not far from town where the long tailed Macacaqua monkeys reside. It is near the temple Pura Dalem Agung which is the greatest of three main temples in the Padangtegal village. Though the population varies there usually are around 150 of these monkeys in the forest at one time. This monkey is featured in the Kecak Dance and the Ramayana Epic which are important parts of Balinese culture.
