Corn Snake (Elaphe guttata guttata), Colubridae, Lampropeltini
- Corn snakes get their name because they are commonly found near corn field, where they find rodent pests to eat. The broken color patterns helps the Corn snake blend into its surroundings. Since reds appear gray in poor light, this brightly colored nocturnal snake is well camouflaged to hunt a varied diet of rats, bats, birds and lizards, in diverse locations. Corn snakes are native to North American and can grow up to six feet long.
