Title:: Buffalo Main Lighthouse, bottle-necked lighthouse, Lake Erie, New York State, Great Lakes; This lighthouse is situated on the south side of the entrance to the Buffalo River on the grounds of the US Coast Guard Station.
You can see here a smaller structure known as a bottle-necked lighthouse, This is one of only two bottle-necked lighthouses to be found on the Seaway Trail. The other bottle-necked lighthouse can be found at the Dunkirk Lighthouse. These unique structures are built of boiler plate and stand about thirty feet high. Their main features are a curved metal door and four cast iron port windows.
