This aircraft is yet another amazing adaptation of the venerable Boeing 707-320 jet airliner. At this time only the E-6B version exists which is an upgraded version of the E-6A.
In August 1989 the US Navy accepted its first E-6A, and sixteen of these were finally supplied to the fleet by 1992. Then starting in December 1997 the whole fleet was upgraded to the E-6B standard. The conversion was completed on December 1, 2006.
