Sinclair commissioned 9 life-size fiberglass dinosaurs and included cutting-edge animatronics with these realistic looking creatures. It took a team of engineers, paleontologists and robotics experts a total of 3 years to construct these huge creatures. The were designed by the wildlife sculptor Louis Paul Jonas. The true to life attempts was Based on the work of Dr. Barnum Brown of the American Museum of Natural History, along with Dr. John H. Ostrom of Yale University's Peabody Museum of Natural History.

The dinosaurs traveled by barge 125 miles down the Hudson River to the Sinclair Dinoland Pavilion at the New York World's Fair. It is estimated that 10 million visitors saw them for the two year duration of the fair (1964-1965).

After the end of the world's fair, this dinosaur entourage traveled on a national tour, which included the 1966 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

The 9 dinosaurs have found homes in parks and museums throughout the USA including the Stegosaurus you see here. They can be found at these locations:

Tyrannosaurus rex and Apatosaurus - Dinosaur Valley State Park, Glen Rose, Texas
Triceratops - Museum of Science & Industry, Louisville, Kentucky
Stegosaurus - Dinosaur National Monument in Jensen, Utah (a copy exists at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Ohio)
