- The mobile quarantine facility is an Airstream trailer mounted on a custom platform. It consists of living and sleeping quarters, a kitchen, and a latrine. There was a real danger that the Apollo Astronauts could bring back some unknown "moon bug'. They were quarantined in this trailer to protect the Earth from this potential pandemic while they were being transported back to the space center following their splashdown.
