African Rock Python, Python sebae, Pythonidae, Constrictor
- This is the largest of the African snakes. This python can grow up to 8.5 meters in length. Being in the constrictor family it squeezes its prey to death by suffocation. It is able to sense when its prey exhales and tightens its squeeze at that point. This species is a very good swimmer. It is endangered in parts of its range.
